Trauma Therapy in Central Oregon

Trauma isn't just what happened — it's what your nervous system had to do to survive it, and what it keeps doing long after. Effective trauma therapy honors those protective patterns while gently helping your system learn that the danger has passed.

Our approach to trauma

We work primarily through IFS and somatic modalities, which treat symptoms like hypervigilance, numbness, and self-criticism not as disorders to eliminate but as protectors to understand. This tends to feel safer and more respectful than approaches that push directly at traumatic memories.

The pace is yours. Early work focuses on stabilization and building trust — with your therapist and with your own system.

Practical details

We see clients in person in Sisters and by telehealth across Oregon. Several clinicians accept OHP and offer sliding-scale fees, because trauma care shouldn't depend on income.

Common questions

What if I don't remember my trauma clearly?

That's common, and it isn't a barrier. IFS and somatic work engage what's present now — sensations, parts, patterns — rather than requiring a clear narrative.
